Uh, oops. Things were slow and we missed a month checkpoint somewhere back there. Good thing these reports aren't guaranteed regular or anything, huh? Sorry about that.
Let's go over what we've added, shall we?
- 3 new landmarks and 1 new village.
- New craftables: boiled mushroom and boiled meat dumplings, iron braziers, aglaophotis resin, driftwood clubs and staves, whetstone pendants, augers and auger bits, wooden chests, iron-bound chests, and hourglasses that really work!
- New gatherables: holi flowers, aglaophotis, edelweiss, asphodel, driftwood (driftwood may not be available until after some more gathering updates).
- New encounters: pike and perch (you can fish for them, too!).
- Say hello to the materials system! Our first implementation of craftables which inherit ingredient traits lets you make stone beads from standard stone or flint, which in turn may be used to make flint bead bracelets and necklaces. Clothing which allows for different fabrics (with support for different colors once dye code has been tested and bugfixed) is coming soon, so expect to see craftable versions of all your favorite dispenser items. All newly-created bolts of fabric will support this addition.
- Don't forget about event encounters in "empty" wilderness rooms, either; the flagship example is being hunted by a pack of hungry wolves in the forest. Can you distract or escape them before they attack? This code allows for us to add more than just NPCs from nowhere as events, so watch for more brand new ways the wilderness can surprise you in the coming weeks. Bring bandages.
- Dice have been updated to consolidate their messages into two lines (a roll action and the results), making it easier to use multiple dice without spamming oneself to death. They can be rolled on tables or in containers, do not show messages if dropped (but still change their faces), and can be rolled in any amount up to the number of dice currently in the area. They also properly pluralize as "dice" instead of "dies."
- Fuel in smelters has been fixed; it used to burn for only half the lifespan it should have.
- Scrollcases may now be fastened to belts.
- New wiki articles.
- Additions and fixes in Liidhaga.
- Small-scale terrain sculpting in Ydra and Moorva.
- Bug and typo fixes of the usual unsorted variety.
- Tons of backend work on the mudlib (guess what's been keeping us busy).
We've got some really exciting stuff planned that's actually nearing completion now, both long-term wishlist requests and a surprise or two you might not expect.
